They began also learning greek. This is part of the Rebirth of the Renaissance People became fascinated by history! They went on quests to find unknown books.
Medici Bank 1397 • Largest and most respected bank in Europe during the Renaissance • The family became the wealthiest in Europe at the time. • The had political power. • They had Papal power. • They married Kings and Queens! • They were good at banking. • They created the double entry system of debits and credits, deposits and withdrawals. • Giovanni di Bicci entered banking on his own. • His son Cosimo the Elder became head of state in Florence.
