Purpose Of Cards: • Organize Data for Pre Writing • Help Create Works Cited Page • Help protects you from plagiarism
Two Types of Research Cards: • Source Cards: Records ALL sources seen and/or used during research • Note Cards: Records Direct Quotes, Information, and Paraphrasing from resources. A Source Card must be made if a Note Card is made.
Research Cards Quiz Answer the following questions on notebook paper. • What are the two types of Research Cards? • What are three purposes for using Research Cards? • Based upon your notes and Bell Ringer vocab, what is a Works Cited page in a paper? • State how you are going to keep from plagiarizing. • Using the copy of Tolkien’s The Hobbit or McMurtrey’sLonesome Dove on your table, create Source Card and a Direct Quote Card.
