Heating mode Hi-pressure vapor from compressor enters valve Suction port of compressor Refrigeration passes straight thru slide body out suction port Outside coil (Evaporator Inside coil (Condenser)
Cooling mode Hi-pressure vapor from compressor When the thermostat is changed to cooling, the reversing valve becomes energized Suction port of compressor Energizing the valve moves the slide body over Outside coil(Condenser) Inside coil (Evaporator)
With a reversing valve, I can actually reverse the flow of the refrigerant
