  2. INTRODUCCION: • Diabetes mellitus (DM) is an increasingly common medical condition affecting approximately 8% of the population of the United States. • Patients with diabetes are at increased risk for microvascularand macrovascularcomplications.

  3. OBJETIVES: • General. • To characterize the main cardiovascular complications in diabetics patients assisted in the Clinic for diabetics in the State Hospital of Katutura. • Specific: • 1- To characterize the illnesses by sex and age. • 2- To determine the occurrence of cardiovascular complications according to the type of diabetes. • 3- To identify the appearance of cardiovascular complications taking into account the way in which they emergency. • 4- To determine the survival per cent to complications. • 5- To know the response to the treatment applied to the patients.

RECOMMENDATIONS: • -To implement programs throughout the mass media for the education of diabetic patients. • -To facilitate glucometer for and excellent metabolic control as well as specialized bibliography. • -To implement that programs in all local clinic in the regions and in the capital also.
