HRU Delineation • Hydrologic Response Unit - the smallest “hydrologically” homogeneous area in PRMS • Potential HRU delineation factors • Terrain features (e.g., flow contributing area) • Slope grades, aspect classes • Precipitation distribution • Landuse / land-cover classes • Soil drainage properties • Others

Conclusions and Future Work • BAGIS increases NWCC data preparation efficiency by a factor of 10 • BAGIS-H facilitates research for finding best practices for HRU delineation • GIS is an important tool for the integration of sciences in water resources management • It’s hard to keep up with the ever-changing software development environment! • Future work • (BAGIS Ver. 1 was released in 2011) • BAGIS-H: to be released in March 2012 • BAGIS-P: AOI parameterization module, to be released in 2013
