Today we will….. • Complete our Notebook Check to check our organizational skills and see what we need to change • Make test corrections on our “Constitution Post Test” • Identify key vocabulary terms for our Presidential Unit using quizlet.com
Notebook Check • Staple together the following pages for your notebook check: • Overview of the U.S. Constitution • Preamble and the Articles of the Constitution • Cases of the Supreme Ct (Learn or Die) • Amendment Questions • I will be by to check on these four sheets as you make test corrections on a separate sheet of paper. You have 45mins. to complete corrections.
When you are done with your corrections, turn the test and corrections into the bin. Then focus on Key Vocabulary Terms • Log-on to quizlet.com • Complete the vocabulary learn, practice, and games tabs for “Political Terms.” • We will take a vocabulary quiz on quizlet.com on Friday. If you take it before Friday, tell me your score. • DO Achieve 3000 after.
Warm-up for 2/27 and 2/28 • Turn to pages 278 of your textbook. • Flip through Chapter 8 of the textbook and name at least 3 things that we will learn about in our New Unit: Launching a New Nation. • Turn Achieve 3000 into orange bin.
Today we will • Develop positive communication skill, research skills, and organizational skills through a group project on the Presidents. • Identify Key Vocabulary on Political terms using Quizlet.com • Expand our reading and writing skills, using Achieve 3000 and President Project.
Project Presidents • We will be researching the first 6 Presidents (Washington, John Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, and John Quincy Adams) is groups of 4 to 5 people. Next week, you will be presenting this with your group to the class. • You have an outline of your project which will be due at the end of our next class. You will need to work on this outside of school as well. Use Google Drive to show me your work.
Directions • Using the links that I have provided for you on your outline sheet, you will answer the outline questions to assist you with what you will need to teach the class. If you find more information, add it on to score a 4 is several categories.
Groups have been picked already for you, and are non-negotiable.
Group Expectations-*Remember you will be grading your partners* • Work together respectfully to complete the project by the due date. • Review the assignment and note the goals for the project. • Collectively create a plan for accomplishing the goals. • Divide tasks fairly and evenly among members. • Use a rubric to monitor progress on the project. • Assist one another in producing a cohesive presentation. • Meet or exceed the requirements of the assignment.

Answer the “Analyze” question on page 289 in a 3-4 sentence paragraph. • Homework: • Achieve 3000 Readings due Friday: “School All Year Long,” and “Use your Voice.” • Project Presidents final project due on Tuesday (A-day) and Monday (B-day). Presentations will be on those days in sequential order.
