  2. What lies at the root of this conflict? • Some western values contradicts the core values of islam. For example, how women are allowed/expected to dress is drastically different.

  3. What form does this conflict take? • There is open violence in the form of a war going on in the middle east. • There is discrimination against muslims in the US.

  4. What is the spatial extent of the conflict? • This conflict occurs in the middle east and in the US.

  5. How long has there been tension/conflict? • The conflict started when Taliban terrorists hi-jacked a plane and crashed it into the world trade center on November 11, 2001. • It has been going on for 12 years.

  6. How Many people have been affected? In What Ways? • Because of this conflict, there is much bad blood between US citizens and middle easterners. In the US, there is often racial profiling against middle easterners.
