Pre-Quiz—Question #2 “To hum” is a regular verb because its past tense and past participle forms are made by adding the suffix “—ed”. On the other hand, “to sing” is an irregular verb because neither its past tense or past participle are formed by adding “—ed”. Its past tense form (“sang”) is different from its past participle form (“sung”).
