Haiku • The syllable pattern of a Haiku is 5, 7, 5. The first and last lines of a Haiku has 5 syllables and the middle line has 7 syllables. • Since the Haiku poetry only has 3 lines to work with, Haiku poems are usually written about one simple thing.
