New OMI Windows • Launch AOR Coverage Window • Launch AMS Status Window • Launch netCADOPS
AOR Monitoring • New dialog to display which operators are logged into which AORs • Detection of a gap in AOR coverage, transfer of control • Handshake process to accept AOR transfer • Maintain log of gaps in AOR coverage, and coverage transfers • Periodic checking for gaps in AOR coverage • Acceptance of transfer request • Audible alert on receipt of transfer request
AOR Coverage Window • Shows which operator is logged into which AOR
Detection of a gap in AOR coverage • System is monitored periodically to see if there is a gap in AOR coverage • Time window allows short gaps in AOR coverage • Monitoring period configurable by system administrator
AOR Monitoring - Transfer of control • When gap in AOR coverage found: • System pops up a notification window • Transfers the missing AORs to a currently logged in operator • Audible alarm to notifies the operator
Handshake Process to Accept AOR Transfer • Operator selected to take over coverage must acknowledge • If operator does not accept or does not respond within a configurable time period • Transfer request will be sent to next suitable operator • May be necessary to transfer to multiple operators if AOR is split between them
AOR Monitoring - Logging • Logs gaps in AOR coverage to a database table • Logs transfers to a database table
AMR Parameters Window • Display current AMR parameters for each AOR • Edit AMR Parameters
AMR Parameter Editing Window • Control maximum number of AMR calls to receive by AOR • Disable receipt of AMR calls for an AOR • Add comments explaining actions performed
Scheduled Switching Colors • User-Defined colors highlight when scheduled switching about to start • Two colors for different time periods: • Short threshold (e.g. 5 minutes) • Long threshold (e.g. 60 minutes)
Scheduled Switching Filters • Status -Jobs list can be filtered by scheduled start time • Filter window minutes set by user preference
Assign Device to a Job • Equipment (device) can be assigned to a job by clicking in Ormap • Automatically assigns a sub-area to the Job • Needed for template filter in advanced switching module
Filter Presets in Jobs - Status • Filter Jobs by AOR • AOR set when Job is assigned to equipment (device)
Switching Plan Enhancements • Total kVA and customers affected shows in step editor when step is instructed or executed
User Roles – Versions Prior to Release 4 • Prior authority used one of five operation modes to grant login and functional authority per sub area • Operation modes were hierarchical and the user was assigned the highest mode he was authorized to use • Disadvantage: Unable to define users who can have the highest functional authority but not have the intermediate functions
User Roles – Release 4 • Now authority uses a combination of user roles and an unlimited number of operation modes to grant login and functional authority • Operation modes are NOT hierarchical but independent levels used to configure authority for different roles • Administrator needs to determine a grouping of functionality first and then assign the appropriate number of opmodes
Examples of User Roles • Admin • Perform admin functions in Ormap • Cannot perform supervisory control • Cannot assign crews • Cannot update outages • Operator • Open/close fuses • Cannot open/close switches • Grid Management • Open/close switches • Run load flow
Roles and Operation Modes • Role can comprise any mix of operation mode levels • Number of operation mode levels is unlimited • Operation mode can now be defined per device type
Operators, Roles and Sub Areas • An operator may only have one role in a sub area • An operator may have different roles in different sub areas Martin North Southwest Southeast Admin Operator Grid Mgmt Cary Raleigh Grid Mgmt Admin
Support for Operation Mode In OMI • Some OMI functions controlled by operation mode • Current functions that can be controlled: • Update of outages in OMI detail dialog, by device category • Crew assignment, by device category
