  1. Human body systems

  2. Human body systems • Humans need to get energy and get rid of waste. • Our energy comes from food. The body gets glucose from food. • Glucose needs to be combined with oxygen to get energy. However, this produces carbon dioxide and extra water, which we need to get rid of. • All body systems work to: • Get oxygen and glucose • Get rid of carbon dioxide and extra water

  3. Circulatory system • Main organs • Blood vessels – arteries, veins and capillaries • Heart • Job • 1. To deliver oxygen and food • 2.To carry carbon dioxide

  4. Respiratory system • Main organs • Nose • Voice box • Trachea • Bronchus • Lungs • Job • 1. To get oxygen into the body • 2. To get carbon dioxide out of the body

  5. Digestive system • Main organs • Mouth • Oesophagus • Stomach • Small intestine • Large intestine • Job • To get food and make it small so the bloodstream can carry it • To get glucose from food • To get water

  6. Excretory system • Main organs • Kidney • Bladder • Job • To get rid of waste • To get rid of excess water

  7. Mouse Mischief game rules • Take care of your mouse. • Stay in your seat. • Remember which picture is your mouse. • Park your mouse at the top of the slide before answering a question at the blue parking spot. P
