  2. Fröodling av ekologisk timotej med insådd av subklöver • Subklöver gror bra, täcker jordytan på hösten och dör när det blir kallt. Subklöverns uppgift är att samla kväve till timotejen och konkurrera med ogräs • I andra norska försök fick man 19% merskörd vid etablering av timotej tillsammans med subklöver jämfört med timotej etablerad i renbestånd. Försök med andra arter av baljväxter gav inte lika bra resultat • I Norge rekommenderar man att så en blandning av 5-7 kg/ha timotej och 10-12 kg/ha subklöver vid fröodling av ekologisk timotej om man inte har tillgång till mycket stallgödsel • Läs mer om försöken i Bysveen, K. 2006.
