What is a smartboard? • An interactive whiteboard that when hooked up to a computer is a wonderful teaching tool for teachers to use in the classroom. • It is a good hands on and interactive learning tool. • Fun fact: purchased 3 times more often than any other interactive white board brand.   3. History • Smartboards are made by SMART technologies. • In 1991 it was the world’s first interactive whiteboard. • It was the first to provide touch control of computers applications, including microsoft windows applications. SR

  4. What does a smartboard do? • You can control computer applications directly from the display • write notes in digital ink • save work for later use • Has a pen tray that holds four plastic pens and an eraser • The pen components do not have ink nor electronic components JZ

How much does it cost? • The smartboarditslef: $10,699 • AirLiner wireless slate that is offered combined with the smartboard for $2,099. • Additional accessories may be purchased for more • Non-profit educational institutions may qualify for a grant from the SMARTer Kids Foundation • Equivalent for 30% of the suggested price SR
