Office of Naval Research Global Strategy Recruit and utilize scientists and engineers to assess, engage and report on emerging S&T/R&D in geographical and functional areas Encourage new contacts between international scientists and organizations with technology of interest to the US, and the appropriate Naval or other government S&T/R&D agency to allow for information exchange and possible cooperative research Identify areas of S&T/R&D where international efforts may lead the US and evaluate the possible importance of this research to the U.S. Provide the NRE with technical information needed to develop near-term solutions to current fleet problems Provide Fleet/Force Commanders with trained science advisors to support decisions concerning: Requirements definition Resource Allocation Naval Experimentation
