Persuasive Writing talk By Dino Leddie primary 6 Children should be able to choose their own bedtime
Children should be able to choose their own bedtime!!! • Now here I have some reasons to show you. • 1, In my opinion children should go to bed when they want because it allows them to get more independent. • 2,children should choose their own bedtimes so that it causes less arguments • 3, they can tell when they should go to sleep by seeing how tired they are in the mornings. Hi my name is dino Leddie and I go to Strathkinness Primary school. So I have come along today to show that children should be allowed to choose their own bedtime, I will also be trying to persuade you adults out there that you should let your children choose their bedtime. Shall I move on then, well I truly believe that Children should be able to choose their bed time if their parents let them , But in addition they shouldn’t be going to bed at ridiculous times like 12 at night.
“NHS evidence” Sleeping!!! I strongly disagree that mums and dads should be choosing their children's bedtime, as they could be choosing to late a time and could be making their children sleepy and grumpy in the morning. • “There's no magical number of hours that all children in a certain age group need”. • “Charts listing the hours of sleep needed by children can cause concern when individual differences aren’t considered.”
!Bedtime chart! 6 years night time: 10.75 hours 7 years night time: 10.5 hours 8 years night time: 10.25 hours 9 years night time: 10 hours 10 years night time: 9.75 hours • 2 years • daytime: 1.25 hours • night time: 11.75 hours • 3 years • daytime: 1 hour • night time: 11 hours • 4 years • night time: 11.5 hours • 5 years • night time: 11 hours
Here is a pie chart showing the results of a survey of children aged 9 to 13 at a school in America. The survey shows that only 1/3 (blue) chose their bedtime and 2/3 (reds) didn’t. But if more of those children got to choose their own bedtime they would maybe become more independent at an earlier age, and also the survey said that it was mostly the older children that chose their bedtime
In conclusion I believe that parents should allow their children to choose their own bedtime and more importantly trust their children to pick the right time to go to bed!!!
