Overview • Nominal 800 MW Natural Gas Combined Cycle • Early 2011 Received Regulatory Approval (Alberta Utilities Commission and Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development) • Cost: Approximately 1.35 Billion • Joint Venture with Capital Power • Currently under construction • COD: Early 2015
Technology • Video • Natural Gas Combined Cycle • 2 on 1 Mitsubishi 501G gas turbine
Environmental Attributes - Low Air Emissions • GHG – Less that 0.4 tonnes/MWh (less than half of the emissions from Coal) • SOx – Virtually none • NOx – Shepard will only emit between 3 ppm and 6 ppm • PM – virtually none • Mercury – No mercury emissions • We did extensive air dispersion modeling and Shepard has minimal impact on air quality in the region.
