Team 2016 Goals • 97% Graduation Rate • 93% Passing Algebra 1 ECA • 90% Passing English 10 ECA • 65% of students earning an Academic Honors Diploma Goal Update • Only 8 diploma track students are credit deficient • 95% already passed Algebra 1 ECA • Will take English 10 ECA in May • 70% of students currently on track to earn AHD

Academic Honors Diploma = 47 Credits • 2 Math Credits beyond Algebra II • 6-8 World Language Credits • 2 Credits in Fine Arts • GPA = Cumulative equivalent of a “B” No semester grade below a “C-” • Complete one of the following options: • 4 semesters of AP (Must take Exams)/6 credit hours of Dual Credit • 26 ACT Score (Composite) • 1750 SAT Score (No less than 530 on any section)

Technical Honors Diploma = 47 Credits • Complete all requirements for CORE 40 Diploma • Earn 6 credits in college and career preparation courses • Pathway designed industry-based certification or credential, or • Pathway dual credits from the lists of priority courses • GPA = Cumulative equivalent of a “B” No semester grade below a “C-” • Complete one of the following options: • Any one of the options (A-F) of the Core 40 with Academic Honors • Earn the following scores on WorkKeys: Reading (Level 6), Applied Math (Level 6, Locating Information (Level 5) • Earn the following minimum score on Accuplacer: Writing (80), Reading (90), Math (75) • Earn the following minimum scores on Compass: Algebra (66), Writing (70), Reading (80)

Keys steps to College and Career Readiness Sophomore Year Things to do NOW • College Testing - use Sophomore PSAT score report and www.mycollegequickstart.com to improve performance on Junior PSAT and SAT. • Increase Naviance use (login user name is the student ID number, password is student birthdate – 2 numbers for month, 2 for day, 4 for year – no spaces, no dashes) • College visits – use spring break • Leadership • Community Service • Academic Rigor

  9. Keys steps to College and Career Readiness Junior year • Retake PSAT (October) • Take the SAT (www.collegeboard.com) and the ACT (www.act.org) in the spring. Students on free or reduced lunch should request a fee-waiver from the team office. • College Visits - plan at least two college visits – file forms in the team office. • Use Naviance to explore career clusters and to reduce your college list to two or three. • Study and work hard – Last chance to impress a college admissions counselor.

  10. Scheduling Process • Interested students meet with Ben Davis representatives - occurring next Tuesday. • Scheduling Video • Will be shown to students on Jan. 30. (Also available on Team 2016 Website.) • Scheduling worksheet. (Due back to English teachers with a parent signature by February 4.)

  11. Scheduling Process February 6th & 7th - Students will select courses with a counselor in the computer labs – teacher recommendations included. Meet with Mrs. Davis by Spring Break The schedule change deadline is MAY 1 for the 2014-2015 school year. Any changes requested after March 15th will be honored if space is still available.

  12. Typical Junior Year Schedule • English (AP or CP - required) • Math (2 credits - required) • Science (2 credits - required) • US History – required (AP is an option) • World Language (3 years of one or 2/2 for AHD) • Electives and co-curriculars
