  1. Scientific Method • What do you think the Scientific Method is?

  2. Question • Ask a question about something you are interested in. • Example: What paper towel can hold the most water without tearing?

  3. Hypothesis • An educated guess. • Answer your question according to what you think the answer will be. • Example: I think Smiley brand paper towels will hold the most water because they are the most expensive and are a name brand paper towel.

  4. Experiment • Conduct an experiment to answer your question. • Create the plan (figure out how you will do the experiment) • Execute the plan (do the experiment) • Collect the data (write down all the data you collect)

  5. Results • Show your results in the form of a chart or a graph.

  6. Conclusion • Explain the results of your experiment and reflect on anything you might do differently if you conducted this experiment again.
