Spring 2011 SEI Officer Elections Oregon State University Sustainable Energy Initiative sei.oregonstate.edu
Nathan Hinkle • Already very involved in SEI: • Redesigned our website • Volunteer at outreach events • Attend officer meetings • I have attended every possible SEI meeting since fall • Interested in studying renewable energy • Involved with energy outside of SEI, e.g. Honors Energy IQ • Previous experience in HS leading student groups • Running for SEI President • 1st year Environmental Engineering student • Currently SEI web designer
Larkin Loewenherz for Vice President • First-year student in marine biology • Volunteered with the Columbia Slough Watershed Council for 4 years • I’ve really enjoyed my time in SEI so far – looking forward to having more say in what the club does • Outreach is one of the most important things SEI can do • Goals for next year: continued outreach, guest speakers – i.e. researchers at OSU’s Energy Resources Research Laboratory • Trips: OIT, Hatfield, Bonneville Dam…I’m open to ideas!
Adam Gage & Greg Stearns • Positions President & Vice President • Want to expand club outreach on campus • Diversify energy education Note: originally intended to run as a pair without realizing that candidates must run individually. Now running separately, but have a shared slide.
SEI Secretary! I’m running for this position because I want to be a part of watching SEI grow. As secretary, I would be responsible for taking minutes and sending out emails, but I would also be a part of choosing people to come speak, and hopefully planning fun (and educational) trips! I’m excited for the opportunities this group could have in the next year!! Alyson Lovett Freshman CBEE From Sitka, AK
I’m a freshman majoring in Computer Science. My interests involve hanging out with friends and working with new technology. I’ve always been interested in Renewable Energy as I believe it is important to our future, especially as other forms of energy become less viable. I also find the different forms of renewable energy fascinating. Justin Egli Webmaster I’m running for the position of webmaster as it provides a unique way for me to utilize my CS skills and previous experience with Web Development in combination with my interests in renewable energy.
