Percentages may increase as planning for 2009 TLCs is still in progress. • In most instances (Service Learning excluded) the TLCs aim to provide a foundation for RISE experiences; the 2009 TLCs listed may not fully qualify for RISE transcript notations.

  3. Bigger AND Better • Bigger: • 33 TLCs in 2009 • 10% increase from 2008 • 371% increase from 2003 • Capacity to serve 825 entering students (approximately 1/3 anticipated FTFT) • Better: • Exciting new themes & descriptions • Wide participation in a number of campus initiatives.

  4. TLCs + Bridge • 11 TLC + Bridge Sections • 33% of 2009 TLCs include Bridge • 58% of 2009 Bridge sections include a TLC

  5. PDP in 2009 TLCs • We anticipate that ALL 2009 TLCs will include a Personal Development Plan

Undergraduate Research in 2009 TLCs • University College: Our Chemical World • Freshmen will be paired with science faculty conducting research. • University College: “It’s Not Easy Being Green” • Students will conduct research project on environmental issue in Indianapolis under the guidance of faculty researchers.

  7. Global Crossroads in 2009 TLCs • 15% Plan on Using Global Crossroads • 2 Liberal Arts TLCs • 2 SPEA TLCs • 1 Nursing TLC • *2 other TLCs are still • considering possibilities • for Global Crossroads.
