Energy weighting optimisation; Simulation study to set to limits to reach: ----split each calo tile in 2 tile-buffers, one for hadronic energy fraction, other for elm. fraction 1. Reconstruct energy without weighting, just sum all tiles 2. ...... With weighting of elm. fraction, optimise weighting to get best energy resolution (s ) of event sample 3. Add elm. and hadr. energy of cells (2 tiles behind each other) try to find cells with dominant elm. contribution, try amplitude dependent weighting, opt. s of sample 4. Compare with 2., optimise identification of “cells to weight” (containing sizeable fraction of elm. energy) 5. Vary cell granularity (1-4 tiles) find optimum s of sample 6. Vary tile sizes, start again at 3. V. Korbel, DESY
