People in Ur worshipped Moon god: "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: 'Long ago your forefathers, including Terah the father of Abraham and Nahor, lived beyond the River and worshiped other gods. But I took your father Abraham from the land beyond the River and led him throughout Canaan... '" (Josh 24:2-3) (Babylon) With about 60,000 residents, Ur could be the biggest city of the world then. It was also highly civilized.

  3. (Babylon) God called Abram: … The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham while he was still in Mesopotamia, before he lived in Haran. 'Leave your country and your people,' God said, 'and go to the land I will show you.‘ So he left the land of the Chaldeans and settled in Haran. (Acts 7:2-4)

  4. By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. (Heb 11:8) God called Abram again: Terah … died in Haran. The LORD had said to Abram, “Leave your country, your people and your father‘s household and go to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you." So Abram left, as the LORD had told him; and Lot went with him. All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever. I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted. During the night Abram divided his men to attack them and he routed them, pursuing them as far as Hobah, north of Damascus. He recovered all the goods and brought back his relative Lot and his possessions, together with the women and the other people. When Abram heard that his relative had been taken captive, he called out the 318 trained men born in his household and went in pursuit as far as Dan.   16. 這事以後，耶和華在異象中有話對亞伯蘭說： 「亞伯蘭，你不要懼怕！我是你的盾牌，必大大地賞賜你。」 亞伯蘭說：「主耶和華啊，我既無子，祢還賜我甚麼呢？ 並且要承受我家業的是大馬色人以利以謝。」 亞伯蘭又說：「祢沒有給我兒子； 那生在我家中的人就是我的後嗣。」 耶和華又有話對他說：「這人必不成為你的後嗣； 你本身所生的才成為你的後嗣。」 於是領他走到外邊，說：「你向天觀看，數算眾星， 能數得過來嗎？」又對他說：「你的後裔將要如此。」 亞伯蘭信耶和華，耶和華就以此為他的義。

  18. 這事以後，耶和華在異象中有話對亞伯蘭說： 「亞伯蘭，你不要懼怕！我是你的盾牌，必大大地賞賜你。」 (創15:1) • Give your burden to Lord & leave it there with Him. • Do not afraid of Tomorrow, because God is already there. • If you have nothing else besides God, then you will know God is all you need. • Do not tell God how big is your problem, just leave it to Him. Do tell your problem how great is your God.

  20. 亞伯蘭信耶和華，耶和華就以此為他的義。(創15:6)亞伯蘭信耶和華，耶和華就以此為他的義。(創15:6) 亞伯蘭信：神 人非有信，就不能得神的喜悅； 因為到神面前來的人必須信有神(或譯：神是)， 且信祂賞賜那尋求祂的人。(來11:6) But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

  32. HS 「神啊！祢為自己而創造我們， 在我們裡面有一個唯有祢才能填滿的空洞； 除非我們回到祢面前，在祢裡面找到安息， 否則我們將永無安息之所。」

  33. HS 「主啊，求祢把祢自己賜給我。 如果沒有祢，縱使祢把所造的一切都賜給我， 我的心仍不滿足。」

  34. 注視裡面的主 • 親近祂 • 思念祂 • 愛祂 • 與祂對話 • 感謝祂 • 讚美祂 • 順服祂 • 尊榮祂 HS 有了我的命令又遵守的，這人就是愛我的； 愛我的必蒙我父愛他，我也要愛他，並且要向他顯現。(約14:21)
