Features of Immersion Education in settings/schools • The second language is the main medium of communication. • The immersion curriculum is exactly the same as the main curriculum. • The setting/school supports the continuous development of the first language. • Additional bilingualism occurs. • Children mostly hear the second language in the classroom. • Children come to setting/school with similar level of competency in the second language ( very little or none) • Every practitioner is bilingual.
