Framework • May 2011 establishment of ITU-T Focus Group on Audiovisual Media Accessibility (FG AVA) under ITU-T Study Group 16 for the purpose of exploring ways and means to make audiovisual media accessible for persons with disabilities • ISACC contribution GSC16-PLEN-03proposes new text for GSC Resolution 27 to recognize, support, collaborate, promote and identify common interest in the FG AVA
Highlight of Current Canadian Activities • Publication of Monitor 2: A Report on Accessibility in Canadian Broadcasting • Compulsory qualitative standards as conditions of broadcast licence underway • Compulsory quantitative standard as conditions of broadcast licence in effect • CRTC approved Broadcast Accessibility Fund
