  2. Can Man Fall from Grace? • There are clear examples of his fall (Acts 8:21-23) • There are plain statements about his fall (Gal. 5:4) • There are certain promises of his fall (1 Tim. 4:1) • There are severe warnings about his fall (Heb. 3:12)

  3. What causes one to err? • Envious of the wicked (Psa. 73:2-3,17) • Pride (Prov. 16:18; 29:23) • Feeling wronged (Mt. 5:23-24; 18:15-16) • Temptations and tribulations (Lk. 8:13; 22:32) • Cares, riches, pleasures, and lusts (Lk. 8:14; Acts 1:25; 1 Tim. 5:6; 6:9-10; 2 Tim. 4:9; Rev. 3:17)

  4. What causes one to err? • Worldliness (1 Cor. 5:11; Eph. 4:22ff; Col. 3:5ff; Acts 5:2; 8:19) • Fear of men (Gal. 2:11-14) • Slipping or lapsing into sin (Gal. 6:1) • Discouragement (Gal. 6:9) • Disorderly conduct (2 Thess. 3:6,7,11)

  5. What causes one to err? • Seducing doctrines (1 Tim. 4:1; 2 Tim. 2;17-18; 2 Pet. 2:1ff; Rev. 2:14-15,20) • Selfishness (2 Tim. 3:1-5) • Drifting or neglect (Heb. 2:1-2) • Bitterness (Heb. 12:14-16) • Willful disobedience (Heb. 10:25-26; 1 Tim. 1:19-20)

  6. What causes one to err? • Lack of spiritual growth (Heb. 6:4-8; 2 Pet. 1:8-9; Rev.3:1-2) • Not eating the right food (1 Pet. 2:1-2) • Not getting the right exercise (1 Tim. 4:7; Heb. 5:14; 12:11; 2 Pet. 2:14)

  7. The erring can be restored! • The righteous must take interest in the erring (Gal. 6:1-2; Jas. 5:19-20) • The erring must confess, repent, and come back (Jer. 3:13-14; Acts 8:21-23; 1 Jn. 1:7-9) • Erring brother, you can be restored!

  9. How does God describe those who err? • Foolish (Mt. 25:2) • Unfruitful (Jn. 15:5-6) • Hypocrite (Gal. 2:13) • Fallen from grace (Gal. 5:4) • Rejected and burned (Heb. 6:4-8)

  10. How does God describe those who err? • Crucifier (Heb. 6:6; 10:26-31) • Erring and dead (Jas. 5:19-20; Rev. 3:1) • Entangled and worse off (2 Pet. 2:20-22) • Left his first love (Rev. 2:4) • Lukewarm (Rev. 3:16)

What incentives do the erring have for being restored? • Memory of former joy (Lk. 15:17; 2 Pet. 1:9; Rev. 2:5; Psa. 51:12; 119:59-60) • All in heaven want you saved (Lk. 15:7,10; 2 Pet. 3:9; Rev. 3:19-20; Jer. 3:22) • Genuine sorrow for sin (2 Cor. 7:10; Jas. 4:9) • Goodness of God (Rom. 2:4)

  12. What incentives do the erring have for being restored? • Fear of punishment (Rom. 2:5-9; Heb. 2:3; 10:30-31) • Bad influence on others (Gal. 2:11-14) • Heaven (Rev. 2:7,11,17; etc.)

  13. The erring can be restored! • The righteous must take interest in the erring (Gal. 6:1-2; Jas. 5:19-20) • The erring must confess, repent, and come back (Jer. 3:13-14; Acts 8:21-23; 1 Jn. 1:7-9) • Erring brother, you can be restored!
