  4. Why manage research results as citations? • A “short-hand” way to keep track of articles that are important to you • To help create the bibliography and footnotes for research papers • To build a personal knowledge base for future use

  5. Where do I find citations? • In your course syllabus or reading list • Among references cited in books and articles you read • From searching in Library databases or on the Internet

Introducing RefWorks • Your personal web-based citation management service, compliments of Drexel Libraries • Sign up for your account at: www.refworks.com • Steps: • click “user login” – then - “sign up for an individual account” • create your own user ID & PW (make different from DrexelOne) • distance learner? • See “Quicklinks” at www.library.drexel.edu and RefWorks link, authenticate with Drexel ID & PW before making new account like above • Use this same quicklink to access in the future when off-campus – or Drexel’s group-code “RWDrexelU”+ ID & PW
