I know documentation is not just only, it also involves critical hurdle of reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness and or signing the various documents required. I have mentioned below in very simple ways about which copy of the transaction documents or original documents we should keep after home closing. Maintain a file of documents and keep them safe for future reference. Documents, statements can be required at any time for example if you need to file a claim, either against the home seller, your professional representation team or contractors. Real Estate Transfer Documents Closing Documents to Keep as Photocopies after Home Buying Purchase Agreement This piece of paper contains all the terms and conditions required for closing and also signed by all parties when you settled to buy the home. Addendums, Amendments or Riders This piece of paper contains the names of title or seller’s or home buyer’s name or a street address and anything that amends or modifies the terms of your purchase contract.

It is required for filing your personal taxes for that calendar year because some items may be tax deductible. Deed This piece of paper contains how you hold the title, the name of the sellers giving you title and the property’s legal report.
