  2. Pre-grant Preparation • Budgeting and re-budgeting and liasing with NIH and 14 partner Institutions • Collection of IRB documents • Collection of NIH required doc such as Other Support docs • Web-site preparation • Notice of Grant Award (NOGA) received on September 17, 2004

  3. Financials • Finalized details with NIH and BWH Finance Department • Finalized numbers and amendments to subcontracts for all 14 partners • Stream-lined payment mechanisms for faster payment from BWH

  4. IRB • Organized data requests to four Core 3 participants • Filed IRB for secondary-use at Partners after two partners (Harvard and Dartmouth) secured IRB approvals from their own institutions for secondary-use to NA-MIC • Filed IRB for public domain data at BWH IRB

  5. Events • Organized the kickoff meeting in October 2004 (with help from MIT) • Participated in NCBC Evaluation Working Group and Liaisons in Dec 2004 • Organized the All Hands Meeting in February 2005 (with help from U of Utah)

  6. Liasons with other projects • Year 1: Focus on NAMIC operations and management infrastructure set up • Exploring with other NCBCs in subsequent year collaborative projects, e.g., COPD project with I2B2
