Course Objectives • Learning to write well, productively and collaboratively--for the community of writers and readers • Practice to write informative, descriptive, narrative, persuasive and problem solving essays • Focus on the writing process on a computer: focus on gathering information, focus-free-writing, drafting, peer editing, analyzing and correcting errors • Learning to write cover letters and feedback letters: Summarizing information, evaluating essays and giving impressions on other writers’ essays • Reading and thinking critically for Writing Purpose
RELATED OBJECTIVES • Improve your sensitivities to the values held by others; • Learn how to assess your interests, talents and goals; • Learn to recognize the common problem of living wherever people are by drawing from historical and contemporary events; • Develop the skill of working together to solve the common problems of existence

What comes after the ID section? • COVER LETTER • After double space, start from the left margin of the Cover L. Address it • To the Reader: • Conclude by wishing something to the reader; and sign it.
What about the Feedback Letter? • You write it after the instructor’s correction and Grading of your Essay. • Correct your errors, then, discuss them using a handbook of grammar and usage, and show how your essay improved. Say also how you feel about your clean essay.
How about your Grading Scale? • Every graded assignment counts for 100 points. The total will be reduced to 100 pts. 95+ = A 90-94 =A- 86-89 = B+ 80-82 = B- 83-85 = B 76-79 = C+ 73-75 = C 70-72 = C- 66-69 = D+ 63-65 = D 60-62 = D- Lower = F
