Track and field motivation video 2017 - Vertical Jump Training Athletics High Jump with Bondarenko I've always loved sports, growing up, when at school, and I used to love it when sports day would come around, I spent many hours practising the different sport we'd do on the day. But I've never really been a very athletic person despite watching a lot different sports and athletic activities on the TV like when the athletics is on. And although I've often wanted to be an athlete, it wasn't something I followed passionately. Which surprises me now because some athletes are just very inspiring to watch! Especially when it would come to the high jump. Some athletes just seemed to be born for this and almost defy gravity when they jump but I know not it's just down to perfecting their technique. One thing I found when practising sports and the high jump in particular was that running fast was just as important as getting the high jump right too. Because of the one doing the high jump wasn't running fast enough, or their run up to it wasn't perfect then they will likely not clear the bar and that's just a senseless jump. Basically, what I've found is that that the run up to the bar is just as important to get right as the jump itself is. That it's all about the speed of running than the the angle of the jump itself but the cross bar forces you to just jump up as high as you can to get across it clearly. And the run up to the cross bar has to be the perfect pace to give you that momentum you need to clear it and this is done with a gradual but smooth acceleration when running. Although it's not just about running at the right speed so much as it is reaching the optimum speed needed to actually clear the cross bar when you do make the jump. Usually when someone starts off a high jump with a slow run at first then they'll only need the run to be about seven strides or there or more. But for fast runs they might need more of around twelve or more just to be able to clear the cross bar in the jump itself. And high jumpers need to practice a lot! Since they need to get their jumps perfect otherwise they wont pass.
So they run really fast to try and make the jump easier to do when they throw their body upwards over the bar in order to clear it. And the speed that a runner should run is really no much faster or even and less slower than what their normal running speed is. But some athletes and trainers actually suggest that they slow down a little before the jump in order to clear the cross bar. And athletes will power train all the time so that they know they can clear the bar perfectly on each jump. Most athletes take at least three to four steps or strides just prior to them throwing their body in the air. But all athletes are different in how they tackle the jump and some athletes might take less, some more, however generally it's around three to four steps. And if you want to start doing the high jump, or want to do it anytime, it's imperative that you limber up and stretch your muscles first before hand. Stretching your muscles first before you use them in such extreme ways will help to prevent you from not only pulling a muscle that isn't stretched and supple out but also from injuring yourself too. And whether it's for the athlete, or for the common man, you will need to always be trying to improve the vertical jump distance and height you can reach with vertical jump training. And you can certainly find many techniques and methods out there that athletes use for this reason. Here I'll explain some of the different ways and reasons for wanting to improve your jumping height. I hope that through this, you will go on to become a better, faster and smarter athlete, runner and high jumper. And that is that if you can improve your vertical high jumping skills and abilities then that can actually improve your health overall. These health benefits come about due to you decreasing the size of your body core. And actual scientific studies have proved that having a fit and lean core can help to improve your body health overall. And when you aim to improve and increase how high you can jump, you'll also be
strengthening your legs as well at the same time. And if you have strong legs that can boost your metabolism and that can improve your endurance and balance for that matter too. So there are some genuine long term health benefits to improving your vertical jumping ability all round. If you have better leg strength that will not only increase the height you can jump but will also go on to help you later on in life too. Since it's your legs that are the first things you start to notice a deterioration of later on in your life. And for athletics, by improving your athletics high jump, that can also help you in other ways in athletics too. Your athletic ability is one of the main factors for your performance in other competitive sports also. Such athletes might include Basketball players who will see an improvement in their game and accuracy when improving their vertical jump. They can also improve their denseness from the outfield if they have a better vertical jump. Likewise, Baseball players can also help to improve their defensive game playing from the outfield if they have a better vertical jump too. Footballers, such as those that play defensively or as receivers and linemen can be better at blocking kicks and passing by working on their vertical hump. And track and field athletes are scored based solely on their high jumping ability. Therefore, those athletes that improve their vertical jump can see an improvement in their performance overall. There are all these benefits to improving your vertical jump and more but these are the most obvious of them all. And by doing so, you'll not only increase your strength, stamina, endurance and athletic ability but your long term health also. Do you want to be inspired and motivated?
