Matching Grant Objectives • Provide Clean, Safe Water to as Many People and Communities in Northern Region of Ghana as Possible • Reduce Guinea Worm Infestations in Communities Served • Reduce Blindness Caused by Trachoma and River Blindness • Improve Health with Safe Water
Matching Grant Timeline • 2004: How do you dig a well in Africa? • 2005: Speak in Stuart, VA. Bruce Griffith states that several Rotary Clubs care about clean water. • 2006: Sister Relationship Started with Roanoke and Tamale • Sept. 2006 Dr. Wink Weaver goes to Tamale • Realize Wells are Costly and Not Always Clean
