  2. The present progressiveis used to describe actions that are in progress at the present time. It is formed by using estar with the present participle of the verb, which is formed by removing -ar, -er, or -ir from the infinitive, and adding -ando or -iendo. Present progressive

  3. Present progressive • Some verbs have spelling changes in their present participles, especially stem-changing verbs. caer cayendo mentir mintiendo decir diciendo morir muriendo dormir durmiendo pedir pidiendo leer leyendo traer trayendo

  4. Present progressive • When an object pronounis used with the present progressive, place it before the first verb, or after and attached to the participle. • When the object pronounis attached to the participle, an accent mark is added. Alicia loestá escuchando. Alicia is listening to it. Juan is reading it. Juan está leyéndolo.

Present progressive • The present progressivecan also be used with the verbs andar and seguir. • Andar + present participlegive the impression that someone goes around doing something continuously, sometimes with a slightly negative connotation. Él anda pidiendofavores. He goes around asking for favors.
