Annual membership fee will become due on 1st April, 2012 • We are thankful to the Regional Offices / Chapters for their pro-active support and whole hearted co-operation during the year 2011 which enabled us to publish the list of defaulters in time without any complaint. • Annual Membership / COP fee for the year 2012-13 will become due on 1st April, 2012. • The last date of Annual fee is 30th June, 2012 unless extended by the Council. • For COP 30th September, 2012 as per amended Regulations. • All Regional Offices / Chapters having the facility are requested to upload the received fees on the same day (through receipt accounting software) in the Central Receipt Accounting System (CRAS) and will send a list of the fees received through e-mail to Membership Section on daily basis. • Scanned copy of the forms be sent to membership section if possible. • From Headquarters of the Institute - SMS; e-mails will be sent to the members during last week of March and issue letters to members whose email ids are not available, regular announcements in Chartered Secretary Journal, announcement posted on Institute’s website.
Annual Membership Fees All the Regional Councils / Chapters may kindly continue to ensure:- • Publication of announcements regularly about due date of Annual Membership Fee payment in Newsletters/ Bulletins on regular basis. • Display on the notice boards of Regional Council/ Chapters the due date of payment of fee. • Members be requested to check the details of updation of payment of fee on the website of the Institute and discrepancy if any be brought to the notice of the Institute.

Steps to be taken for Restoration of Defaulters • Regional Councils / Chapters may please make special efforts to bring these defaulters members into the membership fold. • Observe February/ March months as old Defaulters Restoration Months. One officer may be deputed to contact the members and make a special drive by sending e-mails / making calls to each and every defaulter member and motivate them to restore their membership. • Updation of addresses / email ids of defaulters of their regions with the help of chapters and persuade these members to get their membership restored

Steps for using portal www.icsi.in. • The member has to create/reset password by clicking on reset password link at home page. • Once logged in, the member can view his over all status and also use various online services available.

For example: For applying for issue of COP Member has to click on the relevant radio button of the link provided ‘Request relating to Certificate of Practice’.
Member can download the form and upload the filled in form along with the required documents
Facility for acceptance of payment online from the Members through Institute’s portal www.icsi.in • Annual Membership fee. • Certificate of Practice fee. • Restoration fee and Entrance Fee. • CSBF subscription. • Transcription fee.
Online change of address by the members on their own through Institute’s portal www.icsi.in • The members can change their professional/residential address/contact details through Institute’s portal www.icsi.inby the steps given below: • Login to portal www.icsi.in • Login to self profile by entering the membership number and password. • Once logged in, the member has to click on the Link 'Change of Address' • A window will be displayed with the buttons 'Professional' and 'Residential' • Click on the relevant Button i.e. Professional or Residential and change the details and click on 'go' button. • A screen will be displayed with the options 'Existing details as per records' and 'Enter change details'. • Change the details as required and press on 'submit' button. • The details will be automatically updated once authenticated by Membership Section.
Automation of ACS/ FCS admission letters • The newly admitted ACS/FCS members can generate their letter of admission confirming their ACS/FCS number and date of admission and Issue of Certificate of Practice Letter by creating/ resetting their password at Institute’s portal www.icsi.inby following the steps given below: • Login to portal www.icsi.in • Login to your profile by entering the membership number and password. • Once logged in, the member has to click on the Link 'Letters' • A window will be displayed with the dropdown list 'ACS/FCS Letter • Click on the relevant option i.e. ‘ACS/FCS Letter’ and press on 'Submit' button. • Letter in PDF format will be displayed (Make sure that pop up blocker is not on in Internet Explorer Browser)

UPDATION OF E-MAIL IDS E-Mail: • As on 31st December, 2011 email IDs of 4407 out of 25048 members are not available in the data base which comes to 17.59 %. • They need to be encouraged to intimate their e-mail IDs to the Institute for inclusion in the data base.
ISSUE OF MEMBER ID CARDS • Member ID Cards: • As on 31st December, 2011, 12428 out of 25048 members have not applied for I Cards which comes to 49.62 %. • Members may be encouraged to get the same issued by making a request through email along with scanned passport size photograph in .jpeg format.
UPDATION OF DATA ON MCA PORTAL MCA Portal : • MCA has been accepting data from the Institute on every Friday and update on their portal on following Monday evening. • The process of updation of data on MCA portal takes 7 to 10 days time. In case of any query, members may be informed accordingly.
Regional Councils / Chapters are requested: • To create awareness among the members about online services available/Automation of ACS/FCS admission through Institute’s portal www.icsi.in and encourage them to use the same for prompt services from the Institute. • In view of automation of admission of ACS/FCS, the members can generate their letter of admission on their own. • Members may be persuaded to change their Professional/Residential address on their own. • The Presentation on online services / automation of ACS / FCS Processes may be made during meeting of Chairmen of Regional Councils with the Chairmen of Chapters of their region.
Company Secretaries Benevolent Fund The region-wise status of members admitted to CSBF as on 31.12.2011 is as under:- Against the total membership of ICSI of 29250 only 8249 members have so far become members of CSBF i.e. 28.20% only which is not very encouraging.
CSBF BENEFITS The Financial assistance and other benefits available to the member as on date: FOR MEMBERS OF THE CSBF 1. In the event of death Up to the age of 60 years:UptoRs. 1,00,000 in deserving cases & Group Life Insurance Policy for a sum of Rs. 2,00,000. Above the age of 60 years:UptoRs. 1,00,000 in deserving cases. 2. Reimbursement of Medical expenses Up to Rs. 40,000 in deserving cases. 3. Education Allowance Up to Rs. 10,000 per child (subject to maximum) of two children incase of the member leaving behind minor children.
Revision in financial assistance and subscription for membership • The Managing Committee of the Company Secretaries Benevolent Fund in its 79th meeting held on 29th September 2011 has decided to increase the financial assistance from Rs. 3.00lakhs to Rs. 5.00 lakhs to the nominee(s) of the deceased members of the Fund upto the age of 60 years (w.e.f. 1st April, 2012). • The Committee has also decided to increase the life membership subscription for enrolment as a member from Rs.5,000 to Rs. 7,500 w.e.f. 1st April, 2012.
For increasing the Corpus of the Fund we have to focus on:- 1. Promoting the membership of the Fund. 2. Strengthening the Corpus of t he Fund. • For the above RCs/Chapters are requested to ensure the following:- • Regular announcements in the newsletter/Bulletins. • Display of the information on the notice boards. • Announcement/appeal during programmes organized by the Regional Councils/A Grade chapters/MSOPs. • Display of Banners indicating the revision of financial assistance / fees during programmes/Seminars etc. • Observing February and March 2012 as CSBF months and disseminate information among members regarding revision of Financial Assistantance and subscription of Life Membership w.e.f. 1st April, 2012. • The Faculty of Oral Tuition be requested to donate generously and non CSBF Members of the Institute from amongst them be persuaded to become members of the Fund. • A column in the attendance registers of all programmes / seminars be added indicating whether the participants are members of CSBF or not. • While issuing fitness certificates for ACS Membership, the Students may be persuaded to apply for CSBF Membership.
FORMATION OF CSBF COMMITTEE AT EACH RC/A GRADE CHAPTERS • To ensure to take steps for fostering the Membership of the fund as decided by the Managing Committee of CSBF from time to time as discussed. • To send periodical action taken report on the steps taken to HQ. • To think ways and means for promoting the membership of the fund in their Region/Chapter. • Organizing of sports meet or cultural evening or any other event for generating surplus of the fund. • To explore the possibility of transferring some share of surplus of progammes of RCs/Chapters to the fund
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS • Council of the Institute has transferred by way of donation a sum of Rs. 1.37 crores from the ICSI.(Rs. 1,37,17,182/-) • NIRC transferred a sum of Rs. 4.86 lacs which was 5% of the surplus of NIRC for the year 2010-11 (Rs. 4,86,600). • NIRC organised Cultural Evening and collected donations of Rs. 1,16,600/ and generated a surplus of Rs. 25,000/- (Total Rs. 1,37,600). • Participants of MSOP of NIRC have also been donating. • Faculty of NIRC have also donated a sum of Rs. 21,000/- . • Pune Chapter transferred Rs. 50,000/- to the fund from the surplus of their Annual Regional Conference. • Hyderabad Chapter has organised Cultural evening for the third time and generated a surplus of Rs. 1.02 lacs likely to be transferred shortly.
Non members of CSBF from Managing Committees of RC/Chapters • The total number of non-members of CSBF of newly elected members of Managing Committee of the Chapters are as given below:- The non-members are earnestly requested to become members of CSBF at the earliest so that they can set an example for others to follow. It may be taken up by the Chairmen of the Regional Councils during their meetings with the Chapters’ Chairmen of their region.
Suggestions for amendments to CS Act, 1980 / Rules / Regulations / Chapter Guidelines / Election Reforms • The Regulations Committee and Election Reforms Committee were constituted by the Council and the suggestions received from the members are under consideration of the Committee. • Regional Councils / Chapters are requested to send suggestions for amendments and for Election Reforms in the conduct of Council, Regional Councils / Chapter’s Election for consideration by these Committees at the earliest.
