Course Load • Grade 10 students will pick 8 Courses • pick courses for both semesters • course changes in September are only done to correct errors or balance course load if possible

Mathematics • Required to take one of the following: • Math 10 Essentials (Graduation) • Math 10 At Work (Graduation) • Math 10 (Academic- 2 credits)
Mathematics,cont’d • Math Essentials 10/ Math At Work 10 Most Nova Scotia Community College Programs, Skilled Trades programs, Some University Arts Programs • Math 10 (All year) 2 credits 1st step in academic Math path **Math teachers will give you a Math recommendation letter for course selection**
Science • Required to take: Science 10 or 10F • Optional as elective: Biology 11 or 11F should be strong Science/Math student to take Biology in grade 10 year
Fine Arts • Art Dramatique 10F • Dance 11 • Drama 10 • Music 10 • Visual Arts 10 Music 10 Instrumental or Vocals will only receive one credit
Electives • Biology 11 • Child Studies 11 • Construction Technology 10 • Core French 10 • Exploring Technology 10 • or another course Physical Education or Fine Arts
French Immersion Gr 10 • Français 10 • Arts Dramatiques 10 • Sciences 10 • Biologie 11 • Modes de Vie Actif 11 Strongly recommended to sign up for all five immersion courses a (you will likely not get all your choices) A minimum of two in grade 11 and two in grade 12 Minimum of nine French Immersion credits in total

The Program O2 is a three year program that will help you begin to answer the question as you work towards a career or occupation by linking what is being learned in school to the community and workplace
The Students Need to be engaged with learning in order to achieve their academic potential Want their learning to focus on preparing for a career Opportunities are arranged for a wide range of school, workplace, and community learning experiences
The Components Specific classes taken Community-Based Learning 10 Career Development 10 & 11 Workplace Health and Safety 11 Co-operative Education 11 & 12
The Community Specific courses have been developed for O2 students that focus on community learning partnerships Students graduating with and O2 diploma must obtain a minimum of four co-op credits Each co-op credit includes 100 hours where the student is involved with the community plus additional classroom time
