  1. Leadership ChickasawClass of 2006-2007 – Leadership in Chickasaw County Leading the way for a better Chickasaw County Feb. 13th , 2007 Meeting, 6:30-8:30PM

  2. Project Proposals Leadership Chickasaw is about • Putting our leadership abilities to work for our community & county • Turning ideas into action • Implementing change • Working as team to improve our communities

  3. What do people want from their leaders? (that means you!) • Purpose, Direction & Meaning: Has your team found a purpose (project) that is meaningful? Will it energize people? • Trust: Trust is “the social glue that binds commitment and promotes action necessary to produce results”. Are you creating a project in a way that people will trust your team? • Optimism: “All leaders need to be purveyors of hope”. If you don’t truly believe your project is meaningful and worthwhile, what will others think? • Action and Results: Leaders have the ability and desire to convert purpose and vision into action. Wayne Gretzky said “you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”. Does your team have a plan of action for your project? Are you ready to begin the work that will deliver results? From “Learning to Lead” by Warren Bennis and Joan Goldsmith

  9. Leadership – our job This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being a force of nature instead of a feverish selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work the more I live. I rejoin in life for its own sake. Life is no “brief candle” to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations. George Bernard Shaw
