  2. Causes • Long-term exposure to pollutants that irritate the alveoli such as: • Tobacco Smoke • Asbestos • Pollution • Coal Dust • Chemical Fumes.

  3. Symptoms • SOB (shortness of breath) • “Barrel" Chest • Cough that does not produce sputum • High-pitched sound of wheezing • Orthopnea (difficulty breathing or inability to catch breath while laying down) • Fatigue • Weight loss/ loss of appetite.

  4. Treatment • Stop Smoking • Pulmonary Rehabilitation Therapy • Oxygen Therapy • Inhaler Therapy • LVRS (Lung Volume Reduction Surgery).
