What is Hajj? Hajj is the fifth and final pillar of Islam. It is the pilgrimage to Mecca, in Saudi Arabia, where Islam started. Hajj takes place in the twelfth month of the Islamic calendar and every Muslim who has the health and money must perform it at least once in their lifetime. It is a hard journey. It reminds those who do it what they believe the meaning of life is.Before going on pilgrimage, Muslims are recommended to pay off all debts and make up with anyone they have upset. Muslims believe that if their pilgrimage is accepted, all of their sins are washed away.
2. Arrive at the Ka’bah in Mecca. Go round it 7 times. 1. Start at Mecca. Change into Hajj clothes. 3. Run between the two low hills of Safa and Marwah. 4. Travel to Mina, spend rest of day and night here in prayer. 8. Return to Mecca. Go round Ka’bah one more time. 7.Return to Mina. Stone pillar to drive away the devil 6. Rest overnight at Muzdalifah. Gather pebbles. 5. Arrive at the plains of Arafat. Spend afternoon in prayer.
