  3. Benefits • There are many benefits of service learning. • You gain hands on experience • Develop critical thinking and problem solving skills • Learn more about social issues • -(University of Minn)

  4. My Service • As a service-learning experience I participated in the Blazer Build also known as “Habitat for Humanity”

  5. Service Explanation • In the Blazer Build my teammates helped a small group of construction workers build a home. We put up windows, doors, siding on the house, and shingles on the roof.

  6. My Experience • After the community service experience I felt like I was a part of someone’s dream. My teammates and I participated in building a home for someone less fortunate.

  7. What I learned During the project there were trained construction workers. They taught us how to build a house.

  8. What I Constructed • I put shingles on the roof. • I put in windows • I cut wood • I put up doors

  9. My hours • I tallied a total of 15 hours of community service this year • I did four hours on the Blazer Build.
