Club Excellence Process • Putting the Program To Work in Your District
Objectives • Obtain An Overview of the CEP Program • Detail the Recruiting and Development of CEP Facilitators • Understand How Clubs are Identified for CEP
Overview of CEP • Goal: Provide Lions Resources To Strengthen Clubs • Four Aspects of Program: • Facilitated Learning and Planning • Resource Discovery • Club and Community Exploring • Guided Program Delivery
Facilitated Learning • 4 Step Workshop • Step 1: Why are we here? • Step 2: What Makes an Excellent Club? • Step 3: How Do We Determine our Needs? • Step 4: What Can We Do Next?
Why are We Here? • 45-60 Minutes • Focuses on Service To Community • Encourages use of Community Needs Assessment • Asks What a Club Could Do With More Members
Excellent Club • 75-90 Minutes • Determine What Makes a Strong Club • Encourages Clubs to Evaluate Club through the “How are your Ratings? survey
Determining Needs • 45-60 Minutes • Reviews Results from “Community Needs Assessment” and “How are Your Ratings” Surveys • Exposes Lions to Available Resources to Address Identified Needs
What Can We Do • 45-60 Minutes • Takes Results and Guides Clubs to adopt Action Plan for Community Focused Project and/or Club Improvement
Beyond The Workshop • Clubs Conduct “Community Needs Assessment” • Clubs Conduct “How Are Your Ratings” • Club Puts New Action Plan In Motion This is why it is a Process Not Just A Workshop
Role of Facilitator • Conduct the Workshop • Follow Up With Clubs and Coach Them Through Action Plan
Who Makes a Great CEP Facilitator? • At your Tables, Make a List of the Qualities That a Great CEP Facilitator would have. • You have 5 Minutes.
GLT Job • Promote the CEP Program • Recruit Quality CEP Facilitators • Train CEP Facilitators • Do the Workshops • Assist With Follow-up
GMT Jobs • Promote the Program • Identify Clubs For Program • Clubs Need to Attend as a Group • Clubs That Want to Be There • Coordinate with GLT to Make Sure a Workshop Happens • Assist in Following Up
Which Clubs? • At your table, list the types of clubs that would benefit from attending a CEP • Once you have your list of types, rank the types by priority for getting them to a CEP Workshop • 8 Minutes
Special Thoughts • This Workshop Requires Broad Club Participation (need Board at Least) • Think about Doing Steps 1 & 2--in one setting and then Do Steps 2 & 3 after surveys completed back home • Zone Chairs--if not facilitator, then attend with clubs
Objectives • Obtain An Overview of the CEP Program • Detail the Recruiting and Development of CEP Facilitators • Understand How Clubs are Identified for CEP
