Getting to Guilin • Air: • The airfare from the USA or Hong Kong to Guilin is always much more expensive than flying from a Chinese city like Shanghai , Guangzhou or Shenzhen. • We recommend flying to China first and then get a separate flight to Guilin. • By train: • From Shenzhen or Shanghai there are frequent trains to Guilin. • Get a sleeper car! • By bus: • You can also travel to Guilin from Shenzhen by bus. After arriving in Shenzhen, take a taxi to the Yin Hu (means Silver Lake) bus station. There are direct express buses to Guilin every 2 or 3 hours. The bus ticket is around 30-35 US dollars/ person. Tell the driver to let you out at Yangshuo which is before Guilin. The express bus will take 10-12 hours. Travel at night on the sleeper bus for an interesting experience. • Buckland will pick you up from the airport, bus, or train station!
