At a potlatch the wealthiest guests sit closest to the chief. • If you are invited to a potlatch you are expected to give a potlatch to repay the gifts that were given to you. To keep your honor, you must give a gift that was better than you received. If you didn't you would lose your honor. • The host of the potlatch gives gifts to the guests.
