Directiva 2008/99/CE del Parlamento Europeo y del Consejo, de 19/11/2008 • La experiencia ha demostrado que los sistemas de sanciones existentes no son suficientes para lograr el total cumplimiento de la legislación para la protección del medio ambiente. Este cumplimiento puede y debe reforzarse mediante la aplicación de sanciones penales que pongan de manifiesto una desaprobación social de naturaleza cualitativamente diferente a la de las sanciones administrativas o un mecanismo de compensación conforme al Derecho civil.

OBJETIVOS =>OBJETIVOS: (i) cambiar y compartir informaciones; (ii) actuación integrada; (iii) capacitación; (iv) fortalecimiento del Ministerio Público y de los mecanismos de defensa del medio ambiente; (v) ampliación de la visibilidad del trabajo del Ministerio Público en la defensa del medio ambiente en Latinoamérica.
