SHERIDAN • 42 Beds • 11 Dementia specific • 30 High Care Beds • 1 Respite • Home like environment~24 hour Registered Nurse coverage ~Kiosk (located in the hospital)~Lifestyle Program which includes daily • group and individual activities~Visiting Hairdresser~Visiting Speech Pathologist, Dietician, Podiatrist and Physiotherapist.~Shared and single rooms with ensuites~Catering is adapted to suit the nutritional needs of all individuals~Access to secure gardens
49 Residents (47 permanent and 2 respite) who each have their own spacious room and ensuite. • A new dementia for another 12 Residents. • 46 one and two bedroom units in the complex with another 10 units soon to be added
Normal ageing involves changes in human cells and tissues that may result in: • Reduced mobility • Sensory Loss: loss of appetite, vision, hearing and ability to taste food. • Health issues • Impacts on the activities of daily living.
Dementia is a term used to describe symptoms of a large group of illnesses that cause a progressive decline in a person’s functioning. • It’s important to focus on what a person can still do. This allows them to succeed with everyday tasks where possible and maintain their self esteem and dignity.
