Pre-Ceremony Preparation • Debts Cleared • Dress:Males: long dress pants, dress shirt with collar, long dark tie, dress shoes, and socks. Females: dressor dressy pant suit; (low heeled) dress shoes.
Pre-Ceremony Preparation • Hang your gown up at least 48 hours in advance to remove wrinkles. • Pre-arrange a meeting place outside of the UCF Arena. • Traffic and Parking – Parking Garage F is FREE to SENIORS with a parking pass / Parking Garage D and Lot C are $5.00
Parking Pass must be on the dashboard in order to park for free in Parking Garage F. **If you do not have this parking pass you will not be allowed to park in Parking Garage F and it will cost you $5.00 to park in Parking Garage D or Lot C.
Arrival Information • Enter through the side entrance @ 1:00 p.m. (see next slide) • Cap and Gown in hand - Place name in cap • Check in - clear debts • Proper dress inspection---inappropriate items will be taken -do not bring purses, cell phones, cameras, or any other personal items.
Arrival Information (continued) • Use restroom before line up • Follow instructions of staff as to line-up position • Stay in place once line-up is complete • Ceremony will last approximately two hours. • Entry for parents and guests is 1:15 p.m. Please remind your parents and guests tickets are required for entry. They should expect an inspection/search prior to entry. The Arena staff request we remind parents and guests not to bring balloons, noise makers, etc. that will not be allowed in the Arena.

Ceremony decorum • Dignified event • Honor every graduate • Honor your family and school • Parents taking pictures need to be seated • Inappropriate behavior will lead to your removal from thegraduation ceremony at any time that it occurs. Please keepin mind that School Board policy states: "The principal shall be authorized to exclude, prior to or during graduation exercises, any student for misconduct or refusing to follow established rules and procedures for graduation exercises.“ Any unrehearsed actions on the stage will result in you beingescorted out of the arena. You WILL NOT receive yourdiploma until both you and your parents, together, have a conference with the Principal.
Post-Ceremony • Before the balloon drop sing Alma Mater • During the balloon drop 2001 Space Odyssey • After the balloon drop GRADUATES ONLY need to proceed backstage to the old arena to pick up your diploma while class song plays. • Diplomas available for 20 minutes ONLY • Then you can exit from the old arena to the parking garage
Other Concerns • Safety Comments - Deputy Brown • Move to Multipurpose Room for Tickets and Medals - Check for correct amount- see Mr. Mewes for problems • Approved symbols for graduation attire: graduation medallion, Silver Scholar medallion, Top Ten medallion, Honor graduate stole, Hawks Hall of Fame medallion, one activity cord (white), academic cord (affiliation colors).
