West Palm Beach-Boca Raton, FL - Dr. Manuel Abreu is a well-respected doctor in Delray Beach Florida. He is constantly donating his money and time to the community. His love for all people especially the homeless, children, and animals during the COVID-19 pandemic has made him a hero to many people. Feeding people in need and finding shelter against the winter cold is his priority. “Homelessness is a serious societal issue and one that all of us need to address. We can do that by supporting agencies that work on their behalf, and by ensuring that we pay attention to the signs of people that need help and what steps to take in order to best assist those in need," said Dr. Abreu. He also understands the need to be able to attend religious service and the frustration all people are going through during these trying times. He is a man who respects all religions and the right in this country to be able to attend services. Indirectly through charitable donations, he helps others to attend online service.Dr. Abreu is an internist in Delray Beach, Florida and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Boca Raton Regional Hospital and Delray Medical Center. It was his intellectual curiosity that brought him to medicine and later to the exciting field of Surgery. Growing up in a family of Medical Doctors, everything started as a young child in Cuba. When he was six years old, his mother took him into the Operating Room and, unexpectedly, a few minutes later he was watching a newborn baby coming into our world. Through the years his interest and love of learning allowed him to know that the practice of Medicine would fulfill his thirst for knowledge and his desire to give the others the wonderful gifts he has received throughout his academic life. During his medical school years in Cuba, he spent many happy hours in the Operating Room Department. He found this experience to be compatible with his need for both intellectual and physical challenge. He greatly admired the way Surgery and Anesthesia balances art with science more than other field of Medicine. This led him to get into the General Surgery Residency Program. He tends not to let things happen for himself, or assume they will get done, but rather he enjoys making changes and moving forward. Four years after that he became a Surgical Attendant and a few months after his fellowship in Cardio-Thoracic Surgery had begun, his family and he had the unexpected chance to flee the island of Cuba to Brazil, and later to the United States. He was fortunate enough to find a position as a Research Assistant at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City.
One year later he left the Molecular Lab at Columbia, to join at Saint Michael medical Center in Newark, New Jersey, as a Scrub Technician. He considered this to be his golden opportunity. Dr. Manuel Abreu https://www.drmabreu.com/
