McCain’s Domestic Policies • Abortion: Voted for the Prohibit Partial Birth Abortion bill and supports overturning Roe v. Wade • Economy: Would lower corporate tax rate 10%, supports establishing a R&D tax credit • Education: Supports No Child Left Behind, supports parents being active in schools, will demand accountability and responsibility from our education system • Environment: Promoted the 2007 Climate Stewardship and Innovation Act, proposes use of alternative energy sources • HealthCare: Opposes federally mandated universal healthcare, supports medical malpractice reform • Same-SexMarriage: Supports definition of marriage as a man and a woman but opposes amendment to ban same sex marriages, believes it’s a state decision, supports legal benefits for same-sex partners • SocialSecurity: Believes we can supplement Social Security with personal accounts, reduce growth in medical costs through reforms
