  1. Status of PS/SPD SM assembly: • all equipped with modules, • clear bundles are installed: • on 2 inner (PS+SPD) (cryo), 2 outer (SPD) (barrack), • 2 outer (PS) (cryo) – reassembled, 2 middle (PS+SPD) (cryo) –to be finished this week. • + 2 outer (SPD) (cryo) – are needed for completion the cryo site (next week?).   2. LED monitoring system Monitoring system installation/tuning: • Tables for SM in horizontal position are ready • Splitter and driver boards are installed on PS inner (cryo) and 3 PS+SPD outer • Setup for LED driver tuning is ready • (screening of PMT is being improved), • PMT is calibrated ; • training of tuning was done (+on cosmic stand); • 0 tuning of drivers is started on outer SPD SM. • Problems: • some effect on simultaneous illumination of PMT pixels (base? - not understood yet) • tuning of low signals (SPD) needs better screening of PMT Commissioning group meeting CERN

  3. Tests of SM with Cosmics • 0 test was done with 4 outer SMs in December • First setup: 2 outer SPD (bar) + 2 inner SPD+PS (cryo) – test is finished few days ago • Second setup: 2 middle SPD+PS (cryo) + 2 outer PS (cryo) – will start by end of week Commissioning group meeting CERN

  4. First results with cosmic • Statistics: 212 group of 16 pads = 3392 pads • More results will be presented on Friday (Sergei, Yuri) • Preliminary: • Light yield: • inner modules ~22-24 phel/mip • middle modules ~ 26-28 phel/mip • Outer modules ~ 18-22 phel/mip (depending on clear cable length) • Reproducibility of response in detector groups of 16 ~ 5-6%, groups of 64 ~ 8% (rms) • Variation of response in read-out channels is significant: ~8% -10%, with some channels +-50% • Light cross-talk is visible between PMT pixels, lower than 5% Commissioning group meeting CERN
