I’M TIRED OF BEING STUCK (Luke 5:17-26) Introduction: (1.)7 days ago when seeing “Kevin Hart,” there were 3 other comedians prior to him. -Kevin Hart was the headliner and the other were the opening acts who set the stage for him. -The Church, as John the Baptist (John 1:8/1:23) is the opening act who sets the stage for JESUS THE HEADLINER. (2.)All 3 Comedians prior to Mr. Hart did comedy IN FRONT OF THE RED CURTAINS. -The Curtains opened & the scenery changed because of the BEHIND THE SCENES workers. -God who does his best work behind the scenes is working to change the scenery in our lives.

I’M TIRED OF BEING STUCK (Luke 5:17-26) Introduction: (3.)Kevin Hart was the main act (he got all of the attention) but he was not the most important act. -The most important act were the BEHIND THE SCENES stage crew who made things happen. -One can gain attention and still not be important. Body: (A.)VS.17 Jesus is teaching and healing in front of a crowd (he has all of the attention). -4 men are working behind the scenes outside of the church on the streets to bring a paralyzed man to Jesus. -The pastor in front of the crowd is important, but the evangelist behind the scenes witnessing on the streets are also important.

I’M TIRED OF BEING STUCK (Luke 5:17-26) Body: (B.)VS.17 The power of God was present to heal those in the crowd (Pharisees & Doctors of the Law). -Those in the crowd didn’t get healed because they didn’t know they were sick. -God’s power is present to heal on Sunday, but many don’t get healed because we think we have it all together. (C.)How Do I Know I’m Stuck? (the paralyzed/immobile man was stuck) (1.)VS.18 We know we are stuck when we are supported by people and things (as this man was supported by a bed) that don’t help us move forward. (2.)VS.18 We know we are stuck when we just as this man have to depend on others to get where we NEED to go.

I’M TIRED OF BEING STUCK (Luke 5:17-26) Body: (D.)4 Ways to Release Myself From Being Stuck: (1.)VS.18-19 We just as this man must surround ourselves with people who will get us to Jesus by any means necessary (climb the roof). (2.)VS.19 We just as this man must surround ourselves with people who don’t mind letting us down if it means getting us to Jesus (they LET HIM DOWN through the roof). (3.)VS.20 We just as this man must surround ourselves with people who dare to believe even when we don’t believe. (4.)VS.20 We just as this man must allow Jesus to cleanse us from our sins.

I’M TIRED OF BEING STUCK (Luke 5:17-26) Close: (1.)VS.24-25 Jesus tells this man to arise and take up his bed and walk; and the man did it. -THE PARALYZED (IMMOBILE/STUCK) man is now carrying what used to be carrying him. -WE KNOW WE’VE BEEN RELEASED WHEN GOD GIVES US THE STRENGTH TO CARRY WHAT USE TO CARRY US!
