  3. AUSIÀS MARCH’ LIFE • Ausiàs was a poet and a medieval Valencian knight. He came from a noble family. He was one of the most important poets of the Golden Valencian Age. His poetry in Catalan, had a significant impact on Spanish poetry of the S. XVI-XVIII • His father was a great squire and pageboy of the king and therefore Ausias had secured a place there when he was old. And thus it happened, he participated in two expeditions (Sardinia and Tunisia) • Regarding Ausias’ love life, he had two women but no children with them , however he had children with a Moorish slave

  4. AUSIÀS THE POET • The uniqueness of his work is a reflection of the social changes in Valencia. He was the most prominent poet of medieval times (Valencia). • He composed a total of 128 poems. They are divided into three groups: love poetry (with signal or not), poetry reflection (spiritual songs, songs of death) and moral songs • He is best known for his love poems but their songs are also moral high quality
