Internet Subscriptions International Comparisons The following statistics are from the International Telecommunications Union(www.itu.int) via Wikipedia • Fixed line broadband • High speed fixed (wired) access to the Internet, eg, cable modem, DSL, fibre • Some fixed broadband subscription rates may seem low – but that’s because a single subscription may be shared by many people. • Mobile broadband • High speed mobile access to the Internet, eg, mobile phones and portable modems (PC cards, USB modems, dongles, wireless modems) • Some mobile subscription rates may be greater than 100% - because a single person may have more than one subscription.
